Working On a Pastel Beauty

Hello, you! It has been a busy week here at CypressTextiles. My Creative Art Blanket Course is now available for pre-order, I launched my Dutch Rose Blanket CAL Reboot, and debuted my Time Traveller’s Blanket in the latest issue of YARN Bookazine. I also started working on a big blanket using all 191 or so of the demo hexies from my 2022 VVCAL, and I will be sharing that blanket in a blog post soon!

A couple of weeks ago I told you about a blanket that did not yet have a name, that I was working up using Scheepjes Organicon Yarn. (affiliate link)

Originally I thought this would be my 100th published blanket pattern, but then my Time Traveller’s Blanket pattern was published in YARN Bookazine, and that stole the crown of my 100th.

Well the unnamed Organicon blanket now has a name – and a few progress pics too. I’m super excited to show you, so read on!

The Time Traveller’s Blanket and YARN Bookazine, Issue 14: Expression

My contribution to YARN, Issue 14 is the “Time Traveller’s Blanket” and it features my signature style of mixing motifs and playing with geometry. Time Traveller’s Blanket was probably the most fun I have had designing a project.

Introduction

Hello, gorgeous crafter! Today I am shouting out the announcement for my Dutch Rose Blanket CAL Reboot! In 2018, I designed Dutch Rose, and it became one of my favorite designs I ever created. So many of you loved it that I decided to host a Crochet-Along and it was a hit!

In the wake of the 2022 VVCAL, I thought it might be neat to keep the CAL ball rolling and host a reboot of the Dutch Rose Blanket CAL. Now folks who missed out on the first one can participate, or folks who just want to make the coziest blanket ever can join along.

PDF Version

The Dutch Rose Blanket PDF is available to purchase from Etsy and Ravelry. During this CAL, I will be updating the pattern for clarity and making a few construction changes, but the way the blanket turns out will be just the same as in the current PDF. Once the CAL is about halfway through, I will update the PDF with the clarified version.
