2024 VVCAL

2024 VVCAL: Dandelion Motif

Hello, and a huge welcome to Week 4 of the 2024 Vibrant Vintage Crochet-A-Long (VVCAL)! I’m so glad you’re here! I love spending this time with the VVCAL community! We are going to have so much fun relaxingly working through these motifs each week.

This flower has a change to run out your yarn if you are using a 10g ball – I had a small amount leftover. If you run out, you can decrease to 1 chain instead of 2 chains on your petals for Round 4.

Attention!

If you have not yet seen the Week 4 Instruction post, please head there first and see the instructions for the version that you are working. Below, you will find the Dandelion Motif, in US, and UK Terms, Chart, Video, and Step by step photos.

Ode to Flowers: Dandelion

Enjoy a small reflection on one of this week’s featured flowers.

From Florigraphy: An illustrated Guide to the Victorian Language of Flowers, by Jessica Roux, 2020:

From The Language of Flowers: The Floral Offering, a Token of Affection and Esteem, Comprising the Language and Poetry of Flowers (A Scholar Select), by Henrietta Dumont, 1851:

From The Complete Book of the Flower Fairies, by Cicely Mary Barker, 1996:

From Ode to Flowers: A Celebration of the Poetry of Flowers, by Samuel Carr, 2013:

I highly recommend these books if you can get your hands on them! I found mine second-hand. They will change your perspective on flowers with their thoughtful poetry and insights.
