CypressTextiles Free Crochet Content Round-up

Hi, everyone! Today I wanted to share with y’all something that happened to me on Social Media. I fully understand that behind the anonymity of a keyboard/mobile interaction, people can be pretty brazen and frivolous with others’ feelings. I think we have all come to understand that truth. CypressTextiles: 2017 reflections and a peek at whatโ€™s to come

Well, y’all, the year is rapidly closing, and I’m feeling another urge to look back at what I accomplished this year, just to reassure myself that in all the forward motion, I didn’t lose track of my big picture goals. Nerd alert, I know… If you stay with me for this entire post, you can give yourself a pat on the back, as I’d like to take some time to go through each month and share highlights, discuss lessons learned, and celebrate special moments. So settle in, as it’s going to be a lengthy one. ๐Ÿ™‚ Click each photo to read more about the event! Yay! January January is always an awkward month for me. I still have my old, filled up Moleskine to reference my to do lists from the previous year and keep checking things off that weren’t completed. Let’s face it, in January, I practically have one foot in the previous year. Moon Landing was a piece that I took with me to Disney World over Thanksgiving break 2016, and I was …

Autumn Refresh

Hi everyone, and welcome to Theme of the Month! Click the TOTM in the menu to see previous themes. Each month’s calendar is chock full of fun free hooky stuff that I’ll link as it goes live, so check back often! Riding into October on the coat tails of my Goal Setting Sesh post last week, I decided to make October’s Theme of the Month the “Autumn Refresh.” I’ll be updating old patterns, making tutorial videos for established designs, and just generally sprucing up the place. Calendar Note: Links will become live as they are published. Most recent photo of projects will be included as they become available. Oct 5 – YouTube Tutorial Video I’ll be using my Autumn Refresh to make YouTube videos for all of the components in my Island Wildflower pattern. 3 Ways to Crochet-A-Long in 2017

It’s a new year, in case you hadn’t noticed. I myself am still finishing 2016’s work, so I hardly have that “fresh start,” “new year, new me” feeling.. it’s the same ol’ 2016 me until I finish these projects and move on to the Next Big Thing. About this time last year, that big thing was my Vibrant Vintage CAL. With so many participants and a new square each week, I had a lot of fun keeping busy! CALs are a beautiful way to make the coming of the new year count. An easy-breezy commitment with a support group net of crafters that paves a surefire road to accomplishment. But this year I don’t have time to run a CAL. I do miss it though, so 2018 here I come ๐Ÿ™‚ For now, check out these CALs from some seriously talented crafters that are sure to draw a crowd. 1. Hygge Wrap Make the gorgeous and elegant Hygge wrapย by Kirsten of HaakMaarRaak – available in three color-ways. This is the Scheepjes CAL for 2017 – …

Holiday Cheer: A snapshot of my 2016 year end ๐ŸŽ„๐ŸŽ„

Playing With New Yarn I was fortunate enough to have the opportunity to test out a new Scheepjes* yarn: Secret Garden!* This yarn is just whoa…. it’s one of my absolute favorites. Completely swooning over the color changes, tweedy bits, and thick and thin parts. Absolutely can’t wait to work a piece up with it, and in fact I have something planned! Here’s a shot of the three color-ways I chose: My full review of Secret Garden is coming next year alongside a new pattern reveal. Woohoo! Fun Gifties! Find these festive mug*, Yarn Bowl*, and  blank cards* at WoolWarehouse.com and other Scheepjes retailers. Perfect crafter gifts! (Under-tree feline gift guard not included) โค๏ธ๐ŸŽ„ WoolWarehouse also now stocks the gorgeous yarn swift* that I showed off in one of my previous posts! I’ve purchased a swift online before and it was terrible quality – very rickety… this one is sturdy and well made. Yay! Vacation This year for Thanksgiving, my wonderful mom planned a huge eleven-day family vacation. We went exploring through the Disney World parks in …
