Hello, friend! I still have just a few more patterns from my book, The Art of Crochet Blankets, that I have not yet share with you. Today I want to introduce you to my “Moroccan Tile” designed, so named because it is inspired by a fantastic mix of creative cement tiles. I hope you enjoy this little presentation of my crochet pattern!
In this post, I will:
With the skills that you have learned so far in my Crochet Stitch Library, you can create a wash cloth, or even a simple and classic baby blanket with a crochet stitch called Linen Stitch. You may also see this stitch called Woven Stitch or Moss Stitch.
Whichever name you call the stitch, it involves making 1 (US) Single Crochet, and then making 1 Chain, repeating this, and then working the next row in the same manner, but making the Single Crochet stitches into the chain spaces from the previous row.

dtr = double treble crochet
To go beyond the Double Treble Crochet (US Terms) you only need to make more wraps at the start of the stitch. Use this handy list as a guide:
My number one piece of advice would be this: when you make the initial wraps, be sure to tighten the wraps up toward the tip of the hook. This will help ensure that you do not have gaping holes when you are done with the stitch.

Hello, friend! Today I want to share another crochet pattern from my blanket design book, The Art of Crochet Blankets. Lately I have been getting some questions about the book, because the blankets are inspired by non-crochet artists.
Yes, six artists are featured in the book, and their crafts range from digital art to cement tile, and more. I set the book up that way to show how the fusion of inspiration from non-crochet arts with our crochet craft can propel crochet forward and allow it to evolve.
Read MoreHey, lovely! Today I want to reveal a WIP that I have had in the works since 2014. Mind you, my design career started in 2012, so this puppy has been waiting since the beginning of my designer days. I was just a fledgling designer! But I had a seed of an idea… And that seed grew into a colorful and versatile plaid blanket.
In this post, I’ll go over all of the behind the scenes progress that has gone into making this piece, from the initial idea and development, to the color layout and composition, and down to naming the design. Of course I have a lot of progress photos to show you as well.
First let’s talk about how I planted the seed for this blanket, and how it finally sprouted seven years later. Read to the end to take a peek at my Chunky Monkey stash Autumn mantel decoration!

Read MoreHello, lovely crafter! Today I have a special treat for you. I want to show you the latest Scheepjes YARN Bookazine: Issue 12: Romance.
According to the Scheepjes Facebook page, this issue “pays tribute to the Pre-Raphaelite and Arts and Crafts movements of the 19th century and is divided into four enthralling chapters inspired by renowned muses Lizzie Siddal, Fanny Eaton, Annie Miller and Effie Gray.” This edition is a stunner!
Read MoreHello, fabulous crafter! In an effort to provide a free version of all of my (60-ish!) self-published full blanket patterns, I am striving to release a free pattern weekly. Side note: There are about 30 more blankets I have designed which are not self-published, so I can’t release freebies of those, but I wish I could!
A few years back, I became obsessed with the creative endeavors of a talented and lovely lady named Jessica Wilkinson. She has since left social media, but her nature flatlays and video trips around her garden were absolutely inspiring to me. I designed five blankets inspired by her drawings, her flatlays, and her tiny porch potted plant garden.
The materials for Jessica’s floral photography come from a few modest potted plants on her patio. From that tiny garden come the gorgeous and colorful flatlays that inspired this blanket.
