Moroccan Tile Blanket Pattern, feat. in The Art of Crochet Blankets
Hello, friend! I still have just a few more patterns from my book, The Art of Crochet Blankets, that I have not yet share with you. Today I want to introduce you to my “Moroccan Tile” designed, so named because it is inspired by a fantastic mix of creative cement tiles. I hope you enjoy this little presentation of my crochet pattern!
In this post, I will:
- Show some delicious photos of Moroccan Tile
- Reveal the cement tile goodness that inspired this piece
- Offer a yarn suggestion for Moroccan Tile
- Give you ways to share your WIP/FO on Facebook, Ravelry, and Instagram
- Show you my book, The Art of Crochet Blankets
Linen Stitch
Linen Stitch
With the skills that you have learned so far in my Crochet Stitch Library, you can create a wash cloth, or even a simple and classic baby blanket with a crochet stitch called Linen Stitch. You may also see this stitch called Woven Stitch or Moss Stitch.
Whichever name you call the stitch, it involves making 1 (US) Single Crochet, and then making 1 Chain, repeating this, and then working the next row in the same manner, but making the Single Crochet stitches into the chain spaces from the previous row.

Double Treble Crochet Stitch and Taller
Double Treble Crochet is a taller crochet stitch that can sometimes be a little tricky to work properly. I tried to be detailed with my tips and tricks on this one!

Making Taller Stitches
To go beyond the Double Treble Crochet (US Terms) you only need to make more wraps at the start of the stitch. Use this handy list as a guide:
- Single Crochet – 0 wraps
- Double Crochet – 1 wrap
- Treble Crochet – 2 wraps
- Double Treble Crochet – 3 wraps
- Triple Treble Crochet – 4 wraps
- Double Triple Treble Crochet – 5 wraps
- And so on…
Important Note
My number one piece of advice would be this: when you make the initial wraps, be sure to tighten the wraps up toward the tip of the hook. This will help ensure that you do not have gaping holes when you are done with the stitch.

Rolling Plains Crochet Blanket Pattern, From My Book, The Art of Crochet Blankets
Hello, friend! Today I want to share another crochet pattern from my blanket design book, The Art of Crochet Blankets. Lately I have been getting some questions about the book, because the blankets are inspired by non-crochet artists.
Yes, six artists are featured in the book, and their crafts range from digital art to cement tile, and more. I set the book up that way to show how the fusion of inspiration from non-crochet arts with our crochet craft can propel crochet forward and allow it to evolve.

Hey, lovely! Today I want to reveal a WIP that I have had in the works since 2014. Mind you, my design career started in 2012, so this puppy has been waiting since the beginning of my designer days. I was just a fledgling designer! But I had a seed of an idea… And that seed grew into a colorful and versatile plaid blanket.
In this post, I’ll go over all of the behind the scenes progress that has gone into making this piece, from the initial idea and development, to the color layout and composition, and down to naming the design. Of course I have a lot of progress photos to show you as well.
First let’s talk about how I planted the seed for this blanket, and how it finally sprouted seven years later. Read to the end to take a peek at my Chunky Monkey stash Autumn mantel decoration!
