Yarn Information

Okay, before I move on to more blanket pics, I want to take a break to show you the yarn that I used for this project!

1 of each of the Colour Crafter color packs

2 of the Solid color packs in black

Yarn Information

1 each of 6 Colour Crafter Packs – Colors shown in Schematic Key – 45-50g each of 36 colors will be used.

MC = 2 Solid Colour Crafter Pack yarn color 1002 Ede. 550-600g of MC will be used.

Aren’t the colors gorgeous together?

I used all of the 36 colors, just like I did for the Spinwheel Blanket. It’s crazy how blankets can look so different even though they mix up all of the same colors. The background color makes a huge difference. Color theory is wild!

Repeat and Bracket Guide

  • Square brackets [ ] are used for small repeats: 4dc, [2dc, 3tr, 2dc] 2 times
  • Asterisks *are used for repeats that include small repeats: *5dc, [1ch, 1dc] 3 times in next ch, rep from * 3 times
  • Round brackets ( ) are used when a string of stitches are worked into the same spot: (3tr, 3ch, 3tr) in next st
  • Stitch Counts are given at the end of rows where necessary, in the following format: [12 dc, 3 sp]

Tips and Notes

  • Weave your ends after each time you cut the yarn to avoid having to do them all at the end.
  • Please read the stitch guide for any abbreviations.
  • To get a neater result, I do not “chain up” for the first sc of the round/row. Jump straight into the first sc.
  • New yarn is joined with slip st in the st/sp indicated. For example, “Join Yarn X in any tr” means slip st in any tr with Yarn X.
  • To change color in the middle of a row, for example, “5dc, changing to Yarn X on fifth dc”, draw the new color through during the final step of the stitch (drawing the yarn through the final 2 lps) and work over the old color with the new color.
