Hello, lovely crafter! I absolutely cannot believe that the Colour Lab CAL is wrapping up! I had the best time with the CAL, and seeing everyone’s interpretations of the color layout made all of the hard work worthwhile. Today I decided to create a wrap-up post. This is mostly a show and tell post of lovely CAL WIP and FO images. Lots of eye candy! First, let’s take a walk down memory lane to see all of the 8 CAL Parts, and then I want to show off a few of the many, many WIPs that you can find in the Scheepjes International Facebook Group.

Hello, crafter! This month, I am focusing on Phase 1 of the Artist’s Journey, and the importance of imitation when just starting out in your craft. You can read all about that in Episode 2 of Creative Clarity. I shared a bit about my first phase of designing in that post, but in 2014 while I was still in the beginning stages of crochet design, I saw a heart mandala that I fell in love with and wanted to turn into a blanket motif. I reached out to the designer, Crochet Millan, and asked if I could add on additional rounds to her design, and create a quarter motif and a half motif to make a full blanket. She gave me permission, and I made the additions a freebie on my website. Heirloom Collection Blanket: My Latest Work in Progress

Hello, lovely! I recently got some yarn in the mail – always a joy! – and I just have to tell you about it. If you love Colour Crafter then you will love “Scrumptious”, this new yarn from Scheepjes! If you are working up the Colour Lab CAL, you might be trying out the Scrumptious Kit, and if so, you already know how plush and soft this yarn is. If you haven’t used it yet, I recommend giving it a shot! I already have a plan in mind for this yarn, so I ordered specific colors, but of course, I have my Colour Lab CAL Scrumptious demo kit yarn as well, and I just might cook up a smaller project for my leftovers! For now, I wanted to show you the color palette for my upcoming blanket design using the Scrumptious yarn. Read to the end for a sneak peek at my work in progress!
