Hello, fellow 2020 VVCALer! I decided to create a separate post for each version of the blanket that I am posting each week, that way you can follow along with your particular project and have more details. All 5 pages aren’t quite finished at the time I published this post, but as I finish them, I will link them below. The purpose of this page is to supplement your normal VVCAL routine. So you will still look at the posts weekly to get your square color numbers and patterns, but when we get further along into joining and finishing up the squares, there are differences that are specific to each colorway. For this reason, I thought it would be beneficial to just have a place to look at only your blanket’s general information and photos. PS, affiliate links are marked with an asterisk. Purchasing through them will gain me a small commission at no extra cost to you. Catona 10g Colour Pack Catona “Shy Violet” Colorway Catona “Fresh Earth” Colorway Stone Washed and River Washed …
I recently received a shipment of yarn from Scheepjes Yarns, and I cannot stop brainstorming projects with this giant stash of Stone Washed and Stone Washed XL. Scheepjes was generous enough to provide one in every color. I made some yarn pegs to play palette mixer later, and then got to work designing. I truly love this yarn! Find Stonewashed and its XL buddy at LoveKnitting* (US), WoolWarehouse* (UK), and KnottyHouse* (CA), and other Scheepjes retailers. Trust me, you can put 10 random colors in your shopping cart and it’ll make a smashing palette. Obviously I’ve said this a hundred times, but this may be my favorite Scheepjes yarn… I’m swooning over my own photographs of it while putting together this post, and that’s saying something! If you’re wondering the difference between the original and XL versions, check out these two. They’re both the “Enstatite” color and it’s easy to see the thickness comparison. While the yarns look pretty much the same, the content is actually slightly different. Check out the ball bands on this …
When I got the news that one of my favorite Scheepjes lines – River Washed – was getting a fresh new set of eight colors, I got super excited and started dreaming of what the shades would be. Check them out in the photo below, and you’ll see why they well surpassed my expectation! I love how each shade fills in a gap in a different color family. They’re incredible! River Washed Information Find River Washed and its XL buddy at WoolWarehouse* (UK), and KnottyHouse (Colour Packs)* (CA), Deramores, and other Scheepjes retailers. Trust me, you can put 10 random colors in your shopping cart and it’ll make a smashing palette. The Core Color The “base” or “core” of these colors is yellow, and that’s why you see yellow peeking out from the colored halo. From the Scheepjes website: This unique Scheepjes quality is comparable to Stone Washed, though River Washed is made from a painted inner thread that is surrounded by a differently coloured net, resulting in a uniquely expressive yarn. River Washed gives all projects …

Hello, gorgeous crafter! Whether or not you have been following along with us during the 2024 VVCAL over the past weeks, you will be delighted to know that I have released the full pattern PDF. Why do I release the full pattern halfway during the VVCAL? The VVCAL is 20 weeks, which is quite a long and slow-paced CAL. I know some folks really love this pacing and enjoy seeing the new patterns release every weekend, and making the few hexies each week. However, I also know some crafters just want to finish the blanket and not have to wait 20 weeks to have a completed project. So that’s why at around Week 10, I release the full pattern PDF. – Full PDF Version Purchase Links 2024 VVCAL PDF – My Online Shop // Etsy // Ravelry 2022/2024 VVCAL Bundle Of course I have also created a value bundle for you with the 2022 VVCAL and 2024 VVCAL patterns – 2022 and 2024 VVCALs US and UK Terms (4 PDFs) – Available on Etsy. – …
Hello, lovely crafter! With the 2024 VVCAL starting on Friday, March 22nd, I thought it would be nice to make a separate page with the frequently asked questions so that anyone new to the VVCAL can take a look at the concerns I have compiled over the past years. We’ll also take a walk down memory lane to give an intro to the VVCAL! I start with an introduction to the CAL so if you’re new to it, you can get a good sense of what it’s all about. I hope you enjoy this long and photo-driven post! I really brought out all of the good pics to show you the possibilities. Hello, gorgeous crafter! I recently shared everything I know about creating multicolor motif blankets, or scrappy blankets, or however you would like to call it when you organize all of your remnants and make a blanket. Knowing how to make something out of nothing like this is a very good skill to have – and I say skill because it definitely is a learned skill! But once you get the feel for it, you can effortlessly whip up remnant motifs after each project, and once you have enough piled up, you can create a thing of beauty. Head to my “All those ends!” post, so you can read all of my tips and tricks for making a multicolor motif blanket.

Introduction Hello, gorgeous crafter! Today I am shouting out the announcement for my 2024 VVCAL! You may have heard of my 2016 VVCAL, my 2018 VVCAL, 2020 VVCAL, which are made with squares. They tie up nicely in a neat bow in my VVCAL Mega Pack which you can find on Etsy or Ravelry. For the 2022 VVCAL, I wanted to do something different, so I decided to change the game with hexagon motifs. This 2024 VVCAL will be hexagons as well, and they will mix and match with the 2022 motifs. This is going to be a very exciting make, as I know many of …
Hello, gorgeous crafter! Today I want to share with you my latest crochet pattern. I was playing with mandalas a couple of months ago and decided to make them into a hexagon-style layout blanket. This piece would be great for a stash buster, or with a planned layout, but it is written for 2 Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed Colour Packs and some 50g balls as well. It is quite a large piece, but you will enjoy every stitch, especially the mandalas. Happy crafting! PDF Format The PDF version of this pattern is available on Etsy, Ravelry, and in my online shop, and both US and UK Terms PDFs are included. This pattern is in UK Terms – Click here for US Terms If you are saying “All Those Ends!!” I have a blog post for you!

Hello, lovely crafter! Today I have something special to share with you. I have been working since the holiday breaks on this new blanket pattern project. The pattern will consist of large floral mandalas which are then joined together in a hexagon placement, combining two of my favorite themes in crochet: hexagons and mandalas. I have used Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed packs (yarny info below) but you can really use any gorgeous yarns you have. This would make a brilliant stash buster as well. I can’t wait to show you more in this WIP post!

Hello, lovely! Today I want to introduce you to one of the crochet blanket patterns in my book, The Art of Crochet Blankets (Amazon).
