Free Crochet Pattern: Sugarfrost Blanket (UK Terms)

Sugarfrost Blanket

Hello, friend! It’s been a long while since my last post, because I took some time away from creating new work to focus on my family. The prolonged solitary time of the pandemic had some effects on my kiddoes, and I wanted to really pour my energy into making them whole. Now we are all in a much better place, and I am even designing again!

I want to say thank you to everyone who messaged me and emailed me during the nine months or so that I have been on hiatus from my website and socials. I appreciate you greatly!

Today, I offer the pattern for my Sugarfrost Blanket, which was first featured in Inside Crochet, Issue 131. I can now publish the pattern on my website!

Below, you will find the free version (UK Terms). Find the US Terms Free Version here!

PDF Version

Find this pattern in a condensed ad-free PDF for a small fee in my Etsy Shop and on RavelryColoring pages for layouts are also included. Pattern PDFs for US and UK Terms are both included in the purchase.

Designing the Sugarfrost Pentagon Motif

To make a near-perfect pentagon shape, I grabbed a nearby sheet of notebook paper (from my kiddo’s math scratch pad) and used google to figure out exactly how to draw a pentagon. Then I drew it up and cut it out.

What came out of this was a fabulous template to use so I could see exactly how much I needed to decrease and increase to create the shape I wanted.

Don’t you love this motif? It’s perfect for the tessellation!
