Crochet Modular Blankets: My NEW Pattern Book Release!

Hello, lovely crafter! I have something big to tell you about that I’ve been keeping secret for about a year and a half. I published another book of crochet blanket designs, and I’m so excited to show you more about it. The book is called “Crochet Modular Blankets: 18 Mixed Motif Designs that Play With Shape and Scale”, and I really tried to showcase a variety of designs that represents my whole body of art.

Crochet Modular Blankets

I’m so very pleased now to show you what I was busily working on last year and beginning of this year! My fresh new crochet blanket pattern book, “Crochet Modular Blankets: 18 Mixed Motif Designs that Play with Shape and Scale.”

What can I say about this book, except that I nearly poured my entire self into it for months. I was an utter wreck, but such is the way when you’re growing a book-baby. I think what having an actual baby and a book-baby have in common is that you don’t remember the birth, and so you happily do it all over again.

This is just me thinking back to when I wrote my first pattern book, The Art of Crochet Blankets, and thought I may not ever be able to do that again. Well here I am! And I just may do it again if given the chance.

Let me show you a few of the patterns in the book. I think you’re going to love these fun and cozy maximalist designs. And if you like a more subdued blanket, there are some of those in there too.

Sweet Treat Blanket

This design was inspired by those gorgeous little sets of bespoke hand-frosted cookies that you see and wish you could make (or at least eat!). I made this with a 10g Catona Colour Pack (Amazon//WoolWarehouse) and some 50g balls of black and white (JimmyBeansWool//WoolWarehouse), and those adorable pompoms are made with the leftovers for zero waste. Cozy Meadow Blanket

I just had to use another color pack in the book, but you can truly pull from your yarn stash to make this one. I used the Terrazzo 20g Colour Pack here (JimmyBeansWool//WoolWarehouse), plus 50g Terrazzo for the border (JimmyBeansWool//WoolWarehouse). In the same essence as the Happy Little Tree Blanket, this one also features a color fade and a fanciful wildflower garden.

Field of Blooms Blanket

Of course I could nor resist a signature cut-out design! Have fun with these cheeky sunburst-style floral motifs, and the back-and-forth triangle inserts – worked right off of the motifs – will keep you engaged.

Grand Mosaic Blanket

One of my absolute faves in the book, this design is for the crafters who love a large motif and a mandala vibe. I made it in River Washed (WoolWarehouse) and a Stone Washed (JimmyBeansWool//WoolWarehouse) background, but you can use any bright palette you like. I’ve been exploring octagons and it’s been so fascinating and creative. Enjoy this one!
