Remember this WIP from December? I have been working on this blanket for a little while and have really enjoyed making this smaller and faster blanket. It’s baby blanket size at 48x48in, but will be excellent as a lap throw as well.

Scheepjes Metropolis Yarn
Head to WoolWarehouse to shop Metropolis through my affiliate links – this helps support my work at no extra cost! Or head to a Scheepjes Retailer near you.

Metropolis has one of the best color ranges of any yarn. Each color coordinates with the rest, and you can’t choose a bad looking palette. Pick 10 colors at random and you’ll have a winning combo every time!

To make this blanket, you will need:
- 8 balls of main color (mine is 074 Tripoli)
- 5 balls of contrast color (mine is 071 Jakarta)

Shine Bright Blanket
And now, introducing: the Shine Bright Blanket! She is a little crochet number that I cooked up when I decided to use up some stash yarn. I had a plethora of orange and grey Metropolis, and even though this is not my standard color palette, I committed to using my stash yarn and went for it with this 2-color blanket.
My inspiration came from fabric quilts as you can see in the blocks that I used!
Hashtags: #ShineBrightBlanket and #CypressTextiles as always

I combined a pair of cute diamond grannies for the center nine-patch, and then combined that with half a border of flying geese, and half a border of circle-to-square. There were definitely a few motifs that I went through before I decided to go with the circle-to-square motif. The others were just too “fancy” visually to pair with the flying geese.

Shine Bright Photo Dump!
Get ready for more orange and grey, because I took endless photos of this beauty. I’ll reveal the entire layout when I release this free pattern on Monday, Feb 7, but you can get the gist of how I use the flying geese on 2 sides of the blanket, and circle-to-square on 2 sides.

A precious bobble edge completes the whimsical look, and echoes the bobbles in the diamond blocks.
Here is the Shine Bright Blanket again in all her glory.

The Shine Bright Crochet Blanket is one that will be a go-to for your baby shower and housewarming gifts as the design is timeless and will work with any palette, not just 2-color. It is so cozy and fun!

Thank you for stopping in to see my FO reveal. I’ll release the free pattern on Monday!
Happy crafting,
