Chevronnie Blanket is in Progress!

Hello, amazing crafter! A little while ago I told you about my Chevronnie Blanket that I was had just received yarn for – some fabulous Scheepjes Chunky Monkey.

Well the blanket is in full swing, and I was even able to pry myself away from the project and take a few progress pics! I’m super excited to show you, so read on..

Chevronnie Blanket

I mentioned it in the yarn arrival post, but it bears repeating that this design has been knocking around in my mind for a few years now, and it is also one of my most requested patterns – that is, many many folks have messaged me asking when I will get a move on with this one!

Linen stitch is one of my absolute favorites. It is so insanely simple, but very versatile. You can bend the direction of Linen Stitch so that it zigs and zags in any formation. For Chevronnie, I decided to create a join as you go panel blanket – using my PLT Join – and chevron linen stitch panels.

A while back, this project got put on hold because the just-right yarn wasn’t chosen yet, or the just-right stitches weren’t stitched yet. And I never rush designs – everything in its time, right? When I found the Scheepjes Chunky Monkey, I knew that would be the perfect yarn choice!

Scheepjes Chunky Monkey

This yarn is so lush and soft, it’s a total dream. And just enough squish to be cozy, but not too much to be annoyingly floofy. It’s just perfect.

Head to WoolWarehouse or Deramores to shop Chunky Monkey through my affiliate link – this helps support my work at no extra cost to you! Or head to a Scheepjes Retailer near you.

The color range is outstanding! I made a couple of free patterns – my Namaste Mandala and a sample for my Merryweather Square – with Chunky Monkey. They turned out great and I can’t wait to work up a blanket with it.

A close-up of the Chevronnie Blanket – all the heart eyes for this final free pattern in my Linen Stitch Blanket series. Here are the other four patterns

Progress Pics

I have a few more progress photos to show off, so enjoy!

Even when you squidge the blanket up on itself, it is an absolute delight. All those flashed of color – it’s the most fun palette I’ve worked with in a while.

That’s that! I love this project, and I’m pleased as punch to offer my Chevronnie Blanket crochet pattern completely free here on this website, along with step-by-step photos. As always, there will also be a convenient and condensed PDF available for a small fee if you’d like to help support this site, CypressTextiles.

Thanks as always for reading, and happy crafting to you!
