New Free Crochet Blanket Pattern in the Works!

Hello, lovely crafter! Today I want to share my latest free crochet blanket pattern progress, The Prismalux Blanket. The pattern will consist of quilt-block inspired squares which are then joined together in a super unique way, combining two of my favorite themes in crochet: quilt blocks and rainbows. I have used full balls of Scheepjes River Washed, and a Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed pack (yarny info below) but you can really use any gorgeous yarns you have. This would make a brilliant stash buster as well. I can’t wait to show you more in this WIP post. Hoping to slide into home with a Pride Month pattern publish! Then I realized just how much work it really was and slowly let go of the idea. Throughout all these years, there has only been a paid PDF version of the Birdsong Crochet Blanket Pattern, but now I want to release the free version in an effort to continually make sure all of my patterns are accessible to everyone. This pattern is one of a few that I have written which are inspired by the arts of an instagrammer named Jessica who no longer runs her account. Hello, gorgeous crafter! Today I want to share with you my latest crochet pattern. I was playing with these blocks recently, and I made a blog post detailing the WIP on the way to making this pattern. This blanket was born from a bin of half-used Scheepjes Catona – cotton yarns in every color from sunbeam yellow to cloud pink to lilac dusk. As I sorted through the skeins, I wasn’t thinking of perfection or planning a palette. I just wanted to play. What emerged was a lively mix of brights and pastels that feels exactly like spring: soft, bold, unexpected, and full of movement. FO No. 1 of 19: Rainbow Galaxy 2024 VVCAL Blanket

Hello, lovely! Today, as promised in my last post, I am showing off the first of 19 WIP finishes. I truly hope to finish these WIPs this year, but time will tell. In the WIP pile reveal post, I was wondering which WIPs I would start with first, and when it came down to it, I decided to just pick something I knew I would really enjoy. Of course this means it was 1) a rainbow! and 2) hexagon motifs! So, here is my 2024 VVCAL demo blanket using the Catona color pack and the Stone Washed and River Washed color pack. I didn’t use all of the motifs, and this is a throw-size blanket. There were some challenges along the way, which I’ll be sure to mention in case it helps someone out. I’ll be adding in FO pics and links to all of the WIP -> FO blog posts on the WIP pile reveal post.

This piece would be great for a stash buster, or with a planned layout, but it is written for 2 Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed Colour Packs and some 50g balls as well.
