WIP: Heirloom Crochet Blanket in a Red-Lovers Holiday Palette!

Hello, gorgeous crafter! Today, I want to share something that has been knocking around my head ever since I designed the Heirloom Collection Blanket. Of course, the original is made with a palette of blues and white to mimic blue and white pottery, and then the border is in leafy greens as a nod to our plant rooms. But what if it were a holiday blanket instead? OR what if you just love reds and you have red decor – then this version will definitely speak to you! For this sample, I used Colour Crafter yarn instead of the Scrumptious yarn that the pattern calls for, simply because the Colour Crafter has more reds to choose from. I think you will love this one! My Gumball Blanket pattern has been a go-to for making multiple motifs in one sitting, and then joining them with a continuous granny stitch join as-you-go for the ultimate comfort make. Here is the pattern if you want to make this one too! Warning, the motifs are very addictive, but the good thing is that this blanket is very versatile. You can make any combination of the motifs given in the pattern, and you’ll have a different blanket every time. So I’ve added it in at the start of the post – enjoy! My favorite thing about working with the packs is that you have the entire color range in one pack, and you can see which colors will work well together before you buy the full balls. There are also plenty of patterns that show you how to use the entire pack, sometimes plus a few full balls for a background color, so that you can create a very colorful piece.
