Introduction Hello, gorgeous crafter! Today I am shouting out the announcement for the reboot of my 2016 VVCAL! You may have heard of my 2018 VVCAL, 2020 VVCAL, and 2022 VVCAL. Well, those are my latest VVCAL blanket projects, and as you may know, I design and host the VVCAL every 2 years since 2016. But on the odd-numbered years, I have been missing the VVCAL so much! I decided to start hosting a reboot throwback on the odd-numbered years. So the first reboot will be the 2016 VVCAL! Hello, crafter! This month, I am focusing on Phase 1 of the Artist’s Journey, and the importance of imitation when just starting out in your craft. You can read all about that in Episode 2 of Creative Clarity. I shared a bit about my first phase of designing in that post, but in 2014 while I was still in the beginning stages of crochet design, I saw a heart mandala that I fell in love with and wanted to turn into a blanket motif. I reached out to the designer, Crochet Millan, and asked if I could add on additional rounds to her design, and create a quarter motif and a half motif to make a full blanket. She gave me permission, and I made the additions a freebie on my website. I am so happy to have been able to provide this pattern just ten days after I started working on the blanket design. I have worked hard to finish the pattern, and can’t wait to get the step by step photos and videos up as I know many crafter rely on them.
