And an updated cool blues colorway I made:

Updating the Pattern

This year, I was invited by Crochet! Magazine, a publication of Annie’s Catalog, to submit a design for their Summer 2019 issue. What an honor! I decided to look through my pattern design history and choose a hidden gem of a design that maybe just needed a good update and a fresh yarn and palette. Beach Hut was the answer!

Here is my resulting blanket update. Isn’t it a stunner?

Yarny Deets

I got to work picking a palette for this blanket update with the sea and calming shades in mind. Without knowing my chosen palette, I already selected Colour Crafter yarn, since this is such an ideal baby blanket. Colour Crafter is durable and easy-care, while being super soft and so lush. It really is the perfect baby blanket yarn.

Process Pics and a Reveal

Since this blanket works up so fast, the progress pics are very scant, but I did snap a couple.

And here is the updated Beach Hut Blanket in all its glory. I cannot say enough about this design. Fun, engaging, simple, quick, and really stunning finished piece.

Look out for the Beach Hut Blanket in the Summer 2019 issue of Crochet! Magazine, and also find it here:

Thanks for coming along with me on this blanket pattern update journey! Hope y’all have a great day, and get some hooky in!

Happy crafting,

Rachele C.

Riverstone Blanket

This week’s pattern is by talented designer, Jellina of Jellina Creations. She has created a beautiful blanket called the “Riverstone Blanket” . The color pack used is probably my favorite yarny thing ever, and Jellina mixes the colors perfectly in her pretty little squares.

Yarn used for this gorgeous design: 1 box of Scheepjes Stone Washed and River Washed Colour Pack * (original weight) and 7 x 50g balls of Black Onyx Stone Washed *
