Joy Garden Blanket: A Work in Progress

Hello, beautiful crafter! Hope you’ve managed to find some moments of peace as the months seem to fly by. February is almost over! At this point in the year, I look back to see what I have accomplished so far, and I can say I’m proud of my motivation so far to complete projects and share them with you. If you have followed me for a while, you’ll know I always say it, but during even-numbered years, I am quite manic when it comes to designing and sharing. (Odd-numbered years see me spiral down in an undertow of imposter syndrome and creative paralysis, but that’s a story for another day.) During the past few weeks, I have been utterly obsessed with this current work in progress. Shine Bright Blanket: A Quilt-Inspired WIP

Hey, gorgeous creative! Today I want to reveal more of the work in progress that I am tinkering with in two colors of Scheepjes Metropolis. She finally has a name: “Shine Bright Blanket” – because of the diamonds of course! So far I have really enjoyed all of the positive feedback I have received about this design in progress. I even did some polling for this project to gather opinions on the motifs, but I’ll share more about that later! In this post, I’ll go over all of the behind the scenes progress that has gone into making this piece, from the initial idea and development, to the color layout and composition. Of course I have a lot of progress photos to show you as well.

New Yarn for a New Design! See a Sneak Peek..

Hello, amazing crafter! Isn’t there just something about receiving a yarn order in the mail and taking that fresh yarn out of the package? I know my yarn stash mysteriously multiplies in the night, but that doesn’t stop me from getting new yarn… I’ll crochet through it all someday, right?! The yarn I most recently received is some Scheepjes Metropolis in two colors for my latest crochet blanket design. In this post, I’ll show you the yarny goodness, of course, and I’ll also let you in on a little of my thought process as I start my new project. Hello, lovely! Today I have a free pattern for you! I showed my Facebook Group “CypressTextiles Tree Huggers” this blanket last week, and they absolutely loved it.
